Important medical boundary

This tool simplifies published UK CAA and BMAA guidance. It does not determine whether you are medically fit to fly, issue or validate a medical certificate or PMD, interpret symptoms or test results, or replace an AME, medical practitioner or the CAA. If your health, symptoms, treatment or medication have changed, do not use a green result here as authority to fly.

1

What are you trying to understand?

We'll only ask questions relevant to that route.

2

Build your flying profile

Tell us what you do now and where you want your flying to go. We’ll compare the medical routes rather than simply test for a PMD.

What do you want your medical to support?

Select everything that matters to you. These choices drive the recommendation.

Optional: check PMD criteria relevant to your route

This does not decide that you are eligible to make a PMD. It helps identify answers that the CAA says need checking before relying on a declaration.

For the ≤2,000 kg route, the current CAA criteria are primarily DVLA Group 1 plus the psychiatric-medication restriction. The 2,001–5,700 kg route has additional specified conditions. CAP3257 is the primary CAA reference.

PRIMARY SOURCES

Check the original guidance

The navigator is deliberately traceable back to primary CAA and BMAA material. Rules and guidance can change between reviews.
